When you see him for the first time as he walks through the hallway you have this feeling that this guy with his stern look is indifferent to what is happening around him, but it's just the feeling that only gives you the idea of where he's heading for. He has a clear vision of what he wants to teach you, and just as you've shown guts to say "hi" and have heared the first words of his lecture you change that abomination for admiration. Luckily, he's a good "old school" type and you can see it clearly both when he's not looking for your attention at any cost doing all he can to make you feel nice and when he talks with that Frankfurt School's confidence in his voice. He really knows what he's talking about and you feel he talks from experience because he very often refers to his own life and very interesting historical anegdotes. Looking at it now after my post-graduate studies I know that what he taught was not literature, it was life. Bartlomiej Rozmyslowski |
